As a New York based portrait photographer, the question I get asked the most is also one of the most important factors that can make or break your images is your outfit choice. What you wear can influence the mood of the photo, complement or clash with the environment, and impact how you feel and present yourself in front of the camera. Here are some tips on how to choose the perfect outfit for your next photoshoot.
With corporate headshots, your company will often dictate wardrobe.
Consider the location and theme. Whether you're shooting in a studio or outdoors, the location and overall theme of the photoshoot should guide your outfit choice. For example, if you're taking beach photos, you may want to wear a flowy dress or casual beachwear, while a more formal outfit may be appropriate for an indoor studio session.

Unless a specific color is important for you personal brand black is always a safe bet.
